The fortifications, museum and the ingenious water storage system are worth seeing at your tour of Jaigarh Fort. Jaigarh Fort is considered as one of the spectacular forts in India. This Fort is on top of the hill, while Amber Fort is at the bottom. Many people regard the two as one complex however both of them are well connected with well guarded passages. Jaigarh Fort positioned centrally in the thorn-scrub hill, leaves a stern impact on the spectator at once. Jaigarh Fort was used as the treasury of the royal family of Jaipur. Jaigarh, once responsible for the security of both Jaipur and Amer.

Jaigarh Fort, the heritage of jaipur was made to tighten the security of Jaipur and Amber Fort. Due to this fact, one may not find this fort as artistic as other forts and palaces, but it certainly has its own charm in jaipur forts. This Fort has many structures of medieval India, which are worth exploring. It has several palaces, granary, well-planned cannon foundry, several temples and a tall tower. Jaigarh Fort used to serve as the center of artillery production for the Rajputs.

The highlight of Jaigarh Fort is the massive cannon by the name of Jaiban, which was made in the same production house, so it also called Jaivan Jaigarh Fort. Jaiban, the cannon, is believed to be the largest cannon in the World and the main attraction of the Jaigarh Fort. The Fort discloses the mastery over architecture of the former age. The water supply of this fort and its storage reservoirs are a marvel of engineering. Jaigarh Fort has many wide water channels, which were a part of a rainwater harvesting system. The Fort also has 3 underground tanks, the largest one of which can store 60,00,000 gallons of water (that myth was shattered by the Indian government, which searched it).

The Jaigarh museum has a remarkable collection of coins, puppets, photographs of the royal kings, buildings, processions and even a circular pack of cards besides many other remnants of the past. The armory has numerous swords, shields, guns, muskets and even a 50 kg cannon ball, various swords, shields, muskets, war bugles, armour and guns (bullock-cart, wheel, and camel-mounted!). It also has photographs of two of Jaipur's maharajas, Sawai Bhawani Singh and Major General Man Singh II, both once was senior military officers in the Indian Army.

The museum has more of the same, though not all military. There are such photos - some delightful ones of old Jaipur, its maharajas (especially Madho Singh, Man Singh II and Bhawani Singh), palace guards, royal processions and the Jaipur State Cavalry. There's an interesting photograph of India's many rulers at the conference of Ruling Princes and Chiefs (Delhi, 1917), along with other knick-knacks- maps of Jaigarh, spittoons, leather and metal oil containers, and 18th century circular playing cards. Among Jaigarh's other structures are a series of open halls, of which the Shubhat Niwas (the Meeting Hall of Warriors) has a few weather-beaten odds and ends lying about- mostly ramshackle sedan chairs and drums.

The Jaiban cannon is an impressive cannon, and the largest wheeled cannon in the world is located on one of these strategic battlements, to fire on attacking forces. Jaigarh Fort is considered to be one of the most well fortified structures Forts in India.

The Jaigarh Fort could withstand long sieges without too much difficulty thanks to the ingenious water supply arrangements. The museum at Jaigarh Fort has many historic artifacts, including arms and armaments. Other beautiful structures within the Jaigarh Fort includes gardens, a granary, beautiful palace rooms for the royal family and temples for the fort's inhabitants.
